The ADSA holds a number of regular events each year. Read below for descriptions of each event. Be sure to check calendar for upcoming dates and registration links
FREE educational conferences for parents and caregivers of children and adults with Down syndrome on a wide range of current topics (e.g. feeding, IEP planning, behavior management, marriage issues, estate planning, guardianship, and/or transition issues). Childcare is provided when available. Speaker videos are uploaded to our YouTube channel for viewing statewide.
Our annual dance fundraiser is fun for all ages and held at Sherwood Forrest in March each year. We usually have a local TV personality emcee, DJ, photographer, toddler area, crafts, door prizes, and more! Lunch is provided, with available gluten free options. People with Down syndrome get in for FREE, and receive a free t shirt!
A day for people with Down syndrome (of all ages!) to come and enjoy the Little Rock Zoo with their families at low or no cost! Refreshments are provided too!
For a week in the summer we partner with Leaping Beyond Sport Camps to teach children and young adults with Down syndrome how to ride a Strider bike. When camp is over the participants keep their bikes and helmets to take home and continue riding!
Our annual FREE fall gathering for all ages held at Camp Aldersgate in Little Rock. We have a toddler area, crafts, games, Kona Ice, carousel rides, visits from groups of our community heroes (e.g. Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office and Little Rock fire Department), door prizes and more! Lunch is provided, with gluten free options available.
Sponsored by That.Church in Sherwood, our Christmas Party is fun for all ages! Have your picture taken with Santa and Mrs. Clause, make a craft, play some games, karaoke, win door prizes and enjoy the season with community peers young and old!
A sensory room is available for those who need to take a party break.
For young adults, 18 and older, with Down syndrome to get together for an evening of fun and socializing with their peers. We have these every 6-8 weeks.
An evening out for moms to relax, share stories, make new friends and enjoy a meal on us. We have these every 6-8 weeks throughout the year and rotate cities in central Arkansas.
An adult evening out for parents, grandparents, siblings and guardians caring for children and adults with Down syndrome. A chance to meet new people, make new friends and enjoy a meal on us. We have these about once a quarter.
Join us for a Travelers Baseball Game, on us! Families register and ADSA buys the tickets so we can all sit together.
Arkansas Down Syndrome Association promotes and enhances the overall health and well-being of people with Down syndrome and their families.
